"I walked through and said, 'We have to save this.' We're not building to sell; we're building to last. And those are two different philosophies."

THE MARK seamlessly connects not only its many facets but also Seattle’s past, present and future. The century-old sanctuary building is set to find new life as home to SLS Hotel’s buzzworthy restaurant and events venue. While rising alongside it, our dazzling new 44-story tower will be a catalyst for business and community, pointing to this city’s skyward future.
The new Seattle standard
Spanning floors 2–16, SLS at THE MARK brings an elevated sense of style and luxury to our city. Philippe Starck’s celebrated design will be on display throughout the interior, spanning 184 guest rooms and suites, the sumptuous Ciel Spa, a bustling events venue and Bazaar Seattle, the eagerly anticipated restaurant of James Beard Award-winning chef José Andrés.
A gathering place revitalized
Founded over 100 years ago as the First United Methodist Church, the Sanctuary reflects our commitment to preserving Seattle’s rich past while also drawing inspiration from it. In its next incarnation, the hall will be home to SLS Hotel’s thriving restaurant and events venue — a historic place of communion reimagined and reinvigorated for new generations of Seattleites.
Our Midtown home is the epicenter of Seattle’s legal, financial, creative and technology workforces. But for too long, the district has lacked a vital heart of community. We’re ready to fix that, to help energize the neighborhood and actively engage people within the building, along with those in neighboring buildings and well beyond.
